Editing a Wiki Page is pretty similar to editing a Jira issue Description.

Header Toolbar

Navigate to the page and click on the edit icon in the page header. This action switches the page into edit mode.

When a page is in edit mode, you'll notice that the rest of the navigation elements are hidden to give you more focus while working on the page You'll also see a new editor toolbar appear.

Breadcrumbs

The top line of the page shows the breadcrumb for the page -- that tells you which project this page belongs to, as well as the page slug for the page. The page slug is the part of the URL that directly follows the space key and identifies the specific page. It’s automatically generated based on the page title when the page is created.

Below that, is the page title.

Visual Editor

Pages use a rich editor that shows you exactly what the page will look like as you edit it. In fact, this is the same editor as Confluence Cloud uses, albeit with slightly less macros or extensions. There is no need for users to learn or memorize complicated Jira Markup to author pages.

The editor has a convenient formatting toolbar to style your content, and inject available macros into your page.

This includes formatting options and insert macros like tables, columns, various panels, embedding files & images, and more.

Slash Commands

As an added convenience, the editor also supports slash commands (/) and typeahead for linking to other pages, @mentioning users, as well as mentioning issues.

Type β€œ/” (slash) to bring up the slash commands dropdown list. Choose which macro to insert into the page.

Typeahead Pages

Type β€œ#” (hash) to bring up the list of available page in the current project. Choose the page you want to insert and the editor converts it into a card format.

User Mentions

Type β€œ@” and this brings up the list of available users for the current project. Choose a user on the list to insert it and the editor converts it into a user mention.

Issue Mentions

Type β€œ[β€œ (left bracket) to bring up the list of available issues in the current project. Select a project from the list and the editor automatically coverts it into an issue card.

Saving your Work

When you're done editing a page, you can save it using the Save button in the right corner of the toolbar.

Page Snapshots

Whenever you save a page, a new history entry is made to mark the changes, and create a new version that you could roll back to if needed.
