Tasklist Migration
On this page:
Overview
Exporting data from your old instance makes the transition more efficient and worry-free. Simple Tasklists app offers migration options when transferring your settings and data from a self-hosted Jira instance to Jira Cloud.
This is intended for Jira administrators or managers.
The global templates are shared across all projects.
Access Location
Go to the Manage apps page.
Under Simple Tasklists in the left navigation, click Task migration.
Click Start new migration.
You’ll see the following Data Export screen.
Global Data to Export
This setting lets you include global settings and templates during export. The default setting is enabled.
Note that project templates are not included by default.
If this option is disabled, only project data and settings will be exported.
Project Level Data to Export
For this section, you can choose what project-level data you want to include when exporting tasks and templates. Pick one or more specific projects from the dropdown, or simply leave it blank if you want to export everything.
Export Task History
Below the project selection is the option to include the task history in the export. The default setting is disabled.
When enabled, all historical changes made to tasks including what was changed, when it happened, and who made the update, are saved in the exported data.
Starting the Export
Once you’ve configured your export options, click the Start to begin the export.
The app consolidates all selected data and saves it into a file. Locate the exported file in your Jira self-hosted data directory and use it in the Jira Cloud Tasklist Migration screen.
